On selling two items at 40% profit and 20% loss respectively, a shopkeeper gained Rs. 172. If cost prices (in Rs) of these items are (x+220) and (x-150) respectively, then the value of 'x' is:

Solution

Total CP = (x+220) + (x-150) = 2x + 70
