A man says to his son, "My age is 1 year less than 4 times of yours age and before 3 years my age was 5 times of yours age."
What will be the difference of the age of father and that of son?

Solution

According to the given condition y = 4x – 1
And y-3 = 5 (x-3)

then father's present age=4x-1

son's age=x-3
father's age=4x-1-3
now A/Q
4x-1-3=5(x-3)
=>x=11
