I think correct option is not given in today's puzzle.

Minimum 5 coins required to get the following 5 sums successfully
35, 46, 53, 69, 77.

coins denominations are 35,46,53,69,77.
or
35,11,7,16,8 ............ 5 coins
but it is not given in options.

so minimum 6 coins.

In today's puzzle, the correct answer option has not been given in my opinion.
The probability that the first box chosen among the three boxes is 1/3.
And the prob. that the ball selected is red 4/7
Thus in aggregate, that the probability that the ball selected at random come from the first box=1/3*4/7=4/21

@ SONY,
Rs 25

A person sold an item at a profit of 12% .If he sold it at a loss of 12% then he would get Rs.6/- less. What is the cost price?
If x is cp, then
1.12 x- 0.88 x =3
0.24 x= 6
x= 6*100/24 = Rs 25.

In today's qn, there is some confusion.
In a metro compartment there are 3-3 seven persons sitting in both sides besides it there are 2-2 two persons sitting in both sides. If all seats are filled and total persons in the compartment are 126, then how many % persons are sitting in the train with respect to the persons who are standing in the train.

Pls check and explain this statement ....
In a metro compartment there are 3-3 seven persons sitting in both sides besides it there are 2-2 two persons sitting in both sides.

@ Pooja,

If S and A are speeds of Swetha and Archana
and x is total distance, then
x/S = x/A +15/60
x/2S = x/A - 9/60

solving these eqns, we get ,
S/A = 33/48

For this puzzle
The sum of 2 numbers x and y is 10. y(x^2) will be maximum for x = ....

Options.

1) 2
2) 5/2
3) 10/3
4) 20/3
5) 4
6) 28/3
7) 21/4
8) 6
9) 8
10) none of these

Ans. 4

Reason. Given that x+y = 10
For y(x^2) to be maximum we should divide 10 between y and x in such a way that y/1 = x/2 = 10/(1+2)
so x = 20/3, y = 10/3

Answer should be option 10....none of these.
when
x = 20/3, y = 10/3, y(x^2) = (10/3) * (400/9) = 4000/27
when x=10,y=10, then y*(x^2) =10*100= 1000 which is more than 4000/27.

pls check .
