I would like to suggest that there should be a chance to change the answer given earlier.


The marks may be allotted as applicable for that time duration and one mark can be deducted for every next attempt.

In 10 choices, sometimes, the wrong option can be clicked by mistake.

it may have some sense but
decision of RANK on state wise aggregated score doesn't make any sense.
please spent a moment on this issue;

"supporting one's state" theme is good;
please show no. of members (with thier name if possible) belonging to appropriate state;
and no. of members should also taken in consider while deciding the best state/city
otherwise it is just a bifurcation.

I would like you to suggest a more appropiate and logical method of time consideration ....

First of all dont count the effective session time i.e (answer time - login time) as may lead u to pay 1st prize i.e 50000 to many contestants . This is because one may make 2 accounts on two different computer, and can fool you. From the 1st account he may spend any no of hours to find the answer, and the using his 2nd account he will asnwer the question within one minute daily .

But u can do one thing like assign different points (same as now) to the contestants logging in between 11 am to 12 noon. But assign same points i.e 11 points to all contestants logging after 12 noon, they will score 11 if they get the answer correct.

Now still they have chance to collect prize if they login exactly at 11 am for the rest 4 days . A maximum of 91 points can still be scored. Practically 91 is not feasible but still they can score more than 80 or 85 points if they are really intelligent.

I would suggest u to implement this timing considerations. I would like each and every member to read this suggestion and may write their views so that the admin may implement it or go for another approach.

Thanks for considering the members request regarding the time calculation to solve the puzzle... and also agree with what you say

"Today world the Time actually Counts"

But one thing I like to bring to your notice. Every member may not be able to find time before 11:30am to solve the puzzle of the day... That is not his/her mistake... and since you say this is the competition between the company employees, you have to provide them the convenient time. And this competition is not the only job for members.

So in my opinion adding 30 more min to the actual time of solving the puzzle to that person might become the penalty for which that member does not deserve actually.so please consider that and look into it once.

First of all I would like to appreciate M4Maths team for coming up with this good idea of having such a site. Its advantageous to students as well as professionals.



Regd. the points rule, I think the new rule is better. I am a student and when semester starts, there is no way I will be near my computer at 11 AM everyday. There are lots of students who are members of M4Maths. I think they are at a disadvantage with this present rule.



I think u should also remove the 30 minute addition in time in the new rule u r doing for people logging in after 11:30. I think u should give full points. The problem you might be facing is that some one will login from a dummy account, see the problem, solve and then login with actual account and put answer. What u can do is, give a different question to each user, after random selection. That might solve the problem.



In any case, the new point distribution scheme seems better to me.

Hello. Thanks for providing such an excellent platform for Maths related puzzles.Amazing concept!You can do one more thing. Keep a start button, when that is pressed the time will start. This way the user can be given credit of the actual puzzle solving time.

Really it is nice...new method to calculate time i.e If a user login at 4 PM and solving the puzzle in 6 min. then his/her time will be count 36 min. not 5 hr 6 min.

In todays Puzzle earlier there was a misprint,later on which was resolved so time must start from 11:30am rather than 11:00am, as the problem was resolved at 11:30am.have a nice day.

m4maths is really good concept.
I suggest m4maths team to put question hourly basis rather than daily.
moreover, users can also upload question with answer/full solution, which can help to build a big question bank.

You can do one more thing. Keep a start button or "show me the puzzle" button, when that is pressed the clock will start ticking and make it such that it can't be stopped or paused. This way if a user logs in at 3.00p.m. and solves it in 15 mins. his time will be 15 mins and not 4hrs 15mins.
