Q: Median of a data arranged in ascending order 7,10,15,x,y,27,35 is 17 and when one more observation 50 is added the median has become 19, what is y? I NEED COMPLETE SOL. PLS HELP ME
Reply Like? Yes | No
sowjanya   11 years ago
the ans is 21.
for the given series the median is x
so x = 17, from given data
when 50 is added to series
we have two medians both x and y , so its d avg of them
(x+y)/2 =19
(17+y)/2 =19
y =21

Q: A rope makes 140 rounds of the circumference of a cylinder, the radius of whose base is 14cm. How many times can the same rope go round a cylinder with radius 20cm? I NEED COMPLETE SOLUTION PLS HELP ME

It is making 140 rounds of the crcmfrnce so length of the rope will be= 140 * 2*pi*r ------>here (r=14 cm)
l= 140*14*2*pi....................eqtn 1
Now when radius is 20 cm.. so Suppose round is X
l= X*2*pi*r---------------> here(r=20 cm)
l= X*20*2*pi ................. eqtn 2
Nw equate both equation
X= 98

Q: The marked price of an object is rs 1920. The shopkeeper allows a discount of 10% and gains 8%. If no discount is allowed his gain percent would be? I NEED COMPLETE SOLUTION PLS HELP ME

a) 18% b) 20% c) 22.5% d) none
Reply Like? Yes | No
Murali Tekumatla   11 years ago
Marked price =1920
discount =10%
so SP = 1920-10% of 1920
= 1728

gain is 8% then CP=
1728*(100/108)=1600
CP = 1600, SP=1920(at no discount)
then gain %is ( 320/1600)*100=20%

option b is correct

sandeep kumar   11 years ago
M.p=1920rs and discount=10%
so 10% of 1920 is 1728 i.e. sp=1728rs
gains 8% so cp= sp*100/(100+gain%)
1728*(100/100+8)=1600
At no discount...
sp=1920,cp=1600
diff between sp and cp is 320
the formula is (sp-cp/cp)*100=( 320/1600)*100=20%
so anser is OPTION B

the required time is 7:12 because to move 130 degree it require to move up to 7 and then for 5 degree it need to movie 5 degree which is equal to move 12 minute sot ime is 7:12 after moving 135degree of hour hand

7:30,hr hand rotates from 3 to 6 such that 90 degrees,i.e.,3 hrs,remaining 45 degrees is 1:30hrs

mohan bylapudi   11 years ago
for every hour hour hand moves 30 degrees =>135/30=4+15/30=>1hr=30degree=>1/2hr=15degree. Therefore 3+4+1/2hr=7:30hr
Like? Yes | No
Nikhil Awasthi   11 years ago
yes its 7:30 in order to move 135* we move hour hand 90 degree as it reaches 6:00 and then we know each partition in clock is of 30* so we again move hour clock one hour as 90+30= 120* as 7 o clock. . to move rest 15* we move hour hand half partition as 15* which completes 135 * ans clock is now showing 7:30

An equilateral triangle is inscribed in a circle with a radius of 6cm Find its one side in cm?

I NEED COMPLETE SOLUTION PLS HELP ME
Reply Like? Yes (2) | No
Deep Narayan Mojumder   11 years ago
Sqrt(3)/2 * one side of the equilateral triangle = 6+3 = 9[Vide the 2:1 property of equilateral triangle and I am not able to show you the appropriate diagram here]
Hence, side = 6 sqrt(3) in cm.
Like? Yes (2) | No
Rohit Shaw   11 years ago
the center of circle and centroid of triangle are the same point.
centroid divides the median into ratio of 2:1.
radius = 6
(2/3)part of median is radius
2/3 of height = 6
height = 9
√3/2 * side = height=9
side = 6√3 cm

So area=2*(22/7)*2.1*20= 264 sq. m.
Cost @40 rs./sq.m.=264*40=10560

Each plant in a nursery requires 2 liters of water for a day. A water tanker of length 4m, breadth 2m, height 1m brings water once in every day. Find the number of plants for which this water is sufficient?

I NEED COMPLETE SOLUTION PLS HELP ME
Reply Like? Yes (2) | No
Deep Narayan Mojumder   11 years ago
I think Niveditha Ravichandran has already answered it.
First of all, you need to know that, 1 Cubic Meter = 1000 Litres. If you know it, then it is very easy.
According to the given problem, volume of the water tanker = length*breadth*height = 4*2*1 = 8 Cubic Meter = 8*1000 = 8000 Litres.
Given, each plant in a nursery requires 2 litres of water for a day.
Hence, number of plants for which this water is sufficient = 8000 / 2 = 4000. (Answer)
