Distance between A and B is 450 km. A car and a
bus travel from A to B speed of car is 20 km/h more
than that of bus. After travelling 2/3rd distance car
stops for 2 hours and after that remaining distance
is covered at 2/3rd of initial speed and reaches at B.
Bus after travelling 1/3rd of distance stops for 1
hour and after that increases its speed by 25% and
reaches at B at the same time as the car. Find the
speed of bus and car and also find the time taken it
took the car and the bus to reach at B.

them is 400 leaps of dog. The time taken by dog to
take 4 leaps is equal to 6 leaps taken by rabbit in

how many men need to be employed to complete work in 5 days if 15 men can to in 21 days
Reply Like? Yes (1) | No (1)
neha gupta   9 years ago
For this you can either use unitary method or ratio proportion method.
in 21 days men needed = 15
for 1 day men needed = 15*21
For 5 days men needed = (15 * 21)/5 = 63 men

if price of product is increased by 25% and no of product is decreased by 22 then what will be change in selling price??
Reply Like? Yes | No (1)
Devendra Marghade   9 years ago
2.5 % decrease

If original price=100 and number of product=100, then selling price=100*100=10000
With 25% increase new price=100*125/100=125, Number of product=100-22=78,then new selling price=125*78=9750
So % change in selling price=(10000-9750)/100=2.5

Mr. Pandit owned 950 gold coins all of which he distributed amongst his three daughters Lalita, Amita and Neeta. Lalita gave 25 gold coins to her husband, Amita donated 15 gold coins and Neeta made jewellery out of 30 gold coins. The new respective ratio of the coins left with them was 20 : 73 : 83. How many gold coins did Amita receive from Mr. Pandit?

380 gold coins

No. of total gold coins left = 950-(25+15+30)=880
total ratio = 880/176 = 5
so Amita ratio = 73 ie., 73*5 =365
Amita have donated 15 coins.. so she got 380 from his father Pandit

3. 25

Actual cost of 40 needles=1*(100/75)=4/3
Price of 40 needles at 25% profit=(4/3)*(120/100)=1.6 Rs.
So needles to be sold at 25% profit in 1 Rs.= 1*(40/1.6)=25
