9^n is divisible by 144! , then what is the value of n?
Reply Like? Yes (1) | No (1)
mac   10 years ago
9 = 3 X 3
Number of 3s in 144! = 144/3 + 144/9 + 144/27 + 144/81 = 48+16+5+1 = 70
Number of 3^2 in 144! = 70/2 = 35
is 35 the answer ?

– A newspaper agent sells TOI, IE and Herald in equal number to 302 people.7 get IE and Herald, 12 get TOI and IE, 9 get TOI and Herald and 3 get all three.
45. How many get exactly one paper?
1. 280 2. 327 3. 109 4. None of these

46.What percent get TOI and IE only but not Herald?
1. More than 65% 2. Less than 60% 3. 64% 4. None of these

47. Number of persons buying TOI and IE only, TOI and Herald only and IE and Herald only are in the ratio
1. 6:4:9 2. 6:9:4 3. 4:9:6 4. None of these

48. The difference between the number reading IE and Herald only and IE only is
1. 77 2. 78 3. 83 4. None of these

49. How many read TOI alone?
1. 109 2. 91 3. 89 4. None of these

From the given info, we can derive
n(IE nd H only) = n(IE n H) - n(IE n H n TOI) => 7-3 = 4
n(IE n TOI only) = 12-3 = 9
n(H n TOI only) = 9-3 = 6
Also it is given that the papers sold in equal number...
So No. of papers in each category is same...
IE+(4+9+3) = H+(4+6+3) = TOI+(9+6+3) = say a constant "k"
n(IE only) = k-16
n(H only) = k-13
n(TOI only) = k-18
From 45th problem, n(IE)+n(H)+n(TOI) = 280
So k-16+k-13+k-18 = 280
k = 109
So no. of papers issued in each category is 109... [Total of 109*3=327 papers]
n(IE only) = 109 - 16 = 93
n(TOI only) = 109 - 18 = 91
n(H only) = 109 - 13 = 96

45)
No. of people getting exactly one paper ll be n(IE)+n(H)+n(TOI)
n(IE)+n(H)+n(TOI) = Total - [n(IE n H) + n(IE n TOI) + n(TOI n H) + n(IE n H n TOI)
=> 302 - [4+9+6+3] => 302 - 22 = 280
Ans : 1) 280

46)
n(TOI nd IE but not H) = 91+93+12-3 = 193
So % of people getting TOI nd IE not H = 193*100/302 = 63.90 = 64% approximately
Ans : 2) 64%

47)
n(TOI nd IE only) = 9
n(TOI n H only) = 6
n(IE n H only) = 4
Ratio => 9 : 6 : 4
Ans : 3) 9 : 6 : 4

48)
n(IE n H only) = 4
n(IE only) = 93
Difference = 93-4 = 89
Ans : 4) None of these

49)
n(TOI only) = 91
Ans : 2) 91

I think time is a major concern for every next maths student.for this there are many reasons.
First of all I will say practice matters.by coming across different problems and their logics one can increase their speed.
And secondly one should be fast with their calculations and applying shortcuts .

It seems its not related to volume....
Divide each side by 2 nd multiply the quotients
[10/2] * [7/2] * [5/2] => 5*3*2 = 30
