If the diameter of the smaller circle is equal to the side of the square and the diagonal of the square is equal to the diameter of the bigger circle. Then what is the ratio of area of the small circle to the bigger circle ?
Read Solution (Total 1)
-
- The ratio is =1/2
Let the radius of smaller circle be "r"
diametre of smaller circle= 2r
so 2r= a.
Diagonal of square=root(side^2+side^2)=aroot2
Thus in terms of r,the diagonal of square= 2r root2 which is equal to Diametre of bigger circle.
=> radius of bigger circle will be =(2r root2/2) =r root2
Thus area of smaller circle=Pie r^2
Area of bigger circle=Pie (r root 2)^2 = 2pie r^2
Thus Ratio = 1/2 (ANs) - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
