- Ans: 253
Let the number be xyz. Then y=x+z ...1
x+y+z=10 ...2
100z+10y+x - (100x+10y+z) = 99 => z-x=1 ...3
Solving the 3 eqns
x=2 y=5 z=3
Hence the number is 253

- In case of XYZ as number which on reversing , increases by 99,
Z= X+1
also
Y= 10-X-Z..... Given
Y = X+Z
X+Y+Z=10
X+(X+(X+1))+(X+1) =10
4X=8
X=2
then Z=3 and Y=5
number is 253

- Let the 3 digit no be abc (ie..100a+10b+c)------->(1)
middle digit b is equal to 1st and 3rd digit of that no,so c=a+b----->(2)
(sum of 3 digits) a+b+c=10----->(3)
reversing the 3 digit no,from (1) =>100c+10b+a
(100a+10b+c) -(a+10b+100c)=99-------->(4)
solving (4),we get a-c=1------->(5)
subs (2) &(5) in (3),get a=2,b=5 ,c=3.
so the number is 253. - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
