The amount of Rs 1180 is divided among X, Y and Z in such a way that 5 times of the amount that X receives, 6 times of the amount that Y receives and 8 times of the amount that Z receives are equal. Find the amount received by X, Y and Z.

• if X,Y,Z recd amounts x,y,z respectively , then
  
  5x=6y=8z = p (say)
  then
  A= p/5
  y=p/6
  z=p/8
  
  x+y+z= 1180
  putting value of x,y,z in eqn , we get
  p= 2400
  then
  x=2400/5= 480
  y= 2400/6=400
  z=2400/8=300
