  Think that fuel wastage is 100. Now A reduces this by 30 % =70. B reduces 40% from 70 = 70-[40% of 70] = 70-28= 42. Similarly 42-[10% of 42] = 37.8. Its wastage. So total economy will be 100-37.8= 62.2%
