- By the time , second cyclist starts, he has covered 18 miles in 3 hrs.
Extra Distance of 18 miles will be covered by second cyclist in 18/(10-6) = 18/4 = 9/2 hrs = 4.5 hrs - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(8) No(10)
- ans 4.5
total time travelled by 1st cyclist is 7.5
2nd cyclist started chasing only after 3 hours. so time required to catch the 1st cyclist is 7.5-3=4.5 hrs.

- let 2nd catch up wid the 1st in t hours....he has to cover the same distance in t hours,which is covered by 1st in (3+t)hours
t*10=(3+t)*6
t=4.5 hours - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(1)
- convert 6mph into kmph we get 1.6*6=9.6kmph
now distance between them is 9.6*3=28.8km
t=d/relative speed =28.8/0.4=72hrs - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(8)
- total distans
10*t=6*3+6*2+6*t
t=30/4 = 7.5 hrs
