if rs1000 be invested at interest rate 5% and the interest be added to the principle every 10yrs then the number of years in which it will amount to rs 2000 is

• Ans- 16.6 yrs(approx 17 yrs)
  P=1000, R=5% and T=10 years,(given)
  so, SI= PRT/100, we get SI=500
  Now, The new P is (1000+500)= 1500
  so, P=1500, R=5%, T=? & SI=500 (to make 2000)
  then, SI=PRT/100
  so, 500=(1500*5*T)/100
  T=20/3 =6.67 years
  So total time= 10+6.67= 16.67 years (approx 17 years)

• Using formula for simple interest, SI=PRT/100, we get, for P=1000, R=5 and T=10 years, SI=500. Then two spans of 10 years each are required so that the amount will be 2000; i.e. 1000+500(first 10 years)+500(second 10 years)=2000.

• interest is exceeded the 1000 in 6.67 year.. bt it will be added to principle amount in next 10th year.. so ans will be 20 years...
