- Sastry works 12 days n complete 40percent
for one day=0.4/12
=0.0333 per day....
sastry n ravi completes 60percent in 12 days..
for one day=0.6/12
=0.05 per day....
ie r+s=0.05 per day
we know r=o.o33 per day
which implies s=.o17 per day...
per day sastry can complete 0.033 and ravi 0.017th work....
so sastry is twice efficient as ravi....
so sastry is 200 percent efficient....ravi is 100 percent efficient....
Real trick is in question they have asked how much more efficient is sastry than ravi???
so the answer is 200-100=100 percent!!! - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(28) No(3)
- It is clear that in 12 more days Sastry will work 40 % more work..
and Ravi work rest 20% of work in these 12 days
So, simply
Efficiency of Sastry over Ravi is = 40/20 = 2
Efficiency percentage = 200% - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(17) No(9)
- Sorry, in the last answer i only calculated the effciency of Sastry and Ravi
That was 200% for Sastry if 100% is taken for Ravi
So, Sastry more efficient than ravi = 200-100
=100% - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(11) No(2)
- in totl 24 days sastry completes 80% of work. . and in 12 days ravi completes 20% of the work.
now we have to compare both's efficiency. in 12 day sastri can do 40% of work
question is asking how much sastri MORE efficient than ravi. . so the ans will be 100%.
sastri is 100% more efficient than ravi. ans d)100 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(10) No(1)
- b is the answer.shastry does 40% work in 12 days, while with ravi 60% work is done in same no. of days.so,ravi does only 20% of work as compared to shastry in 12 days.

- let the total work be w
so shastri one day's work effieciency is 0.4w/12 i.e=w/30
they together after 12 days complete the job so shastri again completes 40% of work remaining 20% completed by ravi so its one day work =0.2w/12=w/60
shastri is twice more efficient than ravi ..so the d/f n efficiency is 100% - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
