Two beakers are on the table. The capacity of the first beaker is x litres and that of the second beaker is 2x litres. Two thirds of the first beaker and one fourth of the second beaker is filled with wine. The remaining space is filled with water. If the content in both the beakers are mixed in a large beaker of volume 3x litres, what is the proportion of wine in the beaker?

• 1st beaker:
  wine:x*2/3 lit.
  water:x*1/3 lit.
  2nd beaker:
  wine:2x*1/4 lit.
  water:2x*3/4x lit.
  3rd beaker:
  wine:(2x*1/4+x*2/3)=x*7/6 lit.
  water:(2x*3/4+x*1/3)=x*11/6 lit.
  So in third beaker proportion of wine is:(x*7/6)/3x =7/18

  1st beaker:
  60*2/3=40L wine
  2nd beaker:
  120*1/4=30L wine
  60+120=180L BEAKER(3RD BEAKER)
  TOTAL WINE 40+30=70L WINE
  SO 180L beaker have 70L wine
  so 70/180=7/18

  in first beaker 2/3 wine = 60 lit
  in second beaker 1/4 wine = 45 lit
  third beaker is of 3x i.e 270 lit capacity
  adding 60 lit from 1st ,45 lit from 2nd beaker =105 lit
  then proportion of wine in 3rd beaker is 105/210
