A man has a certain number of one rupee and 10 paise coins. He observes that if the rupees were turned into 10 paise coins and vice-versa, he would have Rs.1.80 less. If he has x coins of 1 Rupee and y coins of 10 paisa, then
90x-90y=180
x-y=2
also 50x-10y=500
5x-y=50
solving, x=12,y=10.
