From a circular sheet of paper of radius 10 cm,a sector of area 40% is removed.If the remaining part is used to make a conical surface,then the ratio of the radius and the height of the cone is

- Area of sheet = pi * 10^2 = 100pi
remaing area = 100pi - 40pi = 60pi
curved area of cone = pi*r*l = 60pi
=> r * 10 = 60
=> r = 6
h = (10^2 -6^2)^.5 = 8
r/h = 6/8 = 3:4 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(2)
- 40% is removed .. so the remaining area will b {pi*(10)^2 - (.4*pi*100)} =60*pi
now, to get height f the cone we need the slant height to apply it on the pythogorous theorem ..
we know, pi* r* slant height =60* pi,solving this we get slant ht as 6.so the height will be sqrt(10^2 -6^2) =8
now, r: h = 6 : 8 = 3:4 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(1)
