A beats B by 15 meters in 200 meters race.
A beats C by 19 meters in 200 meters race.
how much B beats C in 3700 meters race?
Read Solution (Total 10)
-
- A=200,B=185
A=200,C=181
B:c=185:181
3700*181/185=80 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(3)
- we take ratio of speed of a to the speed of b
let time taken to complete the 200 mtrs be x
so speed of a= 200/x
at same time x distance covered by b is 200-15=185
so we can say speed of b = 185/x
now,
x=200/s.a=185/s.b //where s.a is speed of a and s.b is speed of b //
s.a/s.b=200/185
similarly
s.a/s.c=200/181
s.a=200*s.b/185=200*s.c/181
s.b/s.c=185/181
we consider time taken to complete 3700m by b will be 3700/185=20
in 20min c will cover (181*20) m=3620
3700-3620=80
b beats c by 80 m - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
- sorry guys
A=200 B=185
A=200 C=181
B:C=3700-[(181/185)*3700]=80 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- b beats c in 200m race =4 min
so b will beat c in 100m race =2 min
so b will beat c in 3700 m race=37*2=74min - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(2)
- if A,B and C are racing for 3700m then ans will be 74m, but if only B and C are running then B beats C by 80m.

- (1) A=200, B=(200-15=185)
(2) A=200 C=(200-19=181)
So B beat C=185-181=4m in 200m race
in 100m race B beat C=2m
so in 3700m race race B beat C=2*37/100=74m - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- i mark ans 74
but i think correct is 80

- A = 200 m B= 185 C= 181 (for 200m)
B is faster so B will Reach first
185/5 * 100 = 3700
@ same time
181/5 * 100 =3620
hence 3700-3620=80

- In 200 meters race a -200 ,b -185 and c 181...
B beats c by 4 meter in 185 meter race
Not in 200 meter race
So ans is (4*3700)/185= 80 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Answer is 80 meters,
If we consider A won the race is 100 seconds.
then speed of A will be (from Speed=Dist/Time) 2 m/s.
Therefore, in 100 seconds B moved 185 meters i.e. speed is 1.85 m/s.
Similarly, speed of C in 100 seconds will be 1.81 m/s.
Now, if B moves with this speed for 3700 meters, then time taken is;
3700/1.85 = Time (from Distance/Speed = Time)
Therefore, Time = 2000 seconds
Now C in 2000 seconds reaches,
Distance= 1.81*2000
Distance = 3620
Therefore, C loses to B by, 3700-3620, i.e. 80 metres. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
