Rajiv can do a piece of work in 10 days , Venky in 12 days and Ravi in 15 days. They all start the work together, but Rajiv leaves after 2 days and Venky leaves 3 days before the work is completed. In how many days is the work completed ?

  3/10 work will be done by venky and ravi in 3/10*20/3=2 days
  total days is the work completed= 2+3+2=7 days

• Take total work as 60 ; efficiency of rajiv is 60/10 =6;effic of venky = 5; of ravi = 4;
  for 2 days all work together so 15*2 = 30 ; remaining=30;
  for last 3 days ravi works alone so 3*4=12 ; remaining 18 units work completed by venky and ravi in 18/9=2 days , total no of days = 2+3+2=7

  30 + 9x + 12 = 60

  If venky worked for 3 days, and the remaining days of work be x days, total days to complete the work be x + 3 days.
  Now Capacities of Rajiv is 60/10 = 6, Venky is 5, Ravi is 4.
  (6 + 5 + 4) 2 + (5 + 4) (x - 3) + 5 x 3 = 60.
  Solving we get x = 4.
  So total days to complete the work is 7 days.

• let us consider total work be 120 (L C M of 10,12,15)
  Rajiv 120/10=12works/day
  venky 120/12=10works/day
  ravi 120/15=8works/day
  if they work to gether then complete 30 works per day
  they together work for 2 days means 60 work is completed
  ravi only work for 3 days then 3*8 =24 and 60+24 84 work is completed
  remaining 36 work can be done by venky and ravi in 2 days(36/(10+8))
  so overall 2days+3 days+2 days=7 days
