- Questions should be : it was four times as many minutes past 3 o clock as it is to six o clock now.
answer is 26
reason:
let current time be X and Y be no. of mins to 6 o clk
from given., X-50 = 3 o clk + 4*Y
X + Y = 6 o clk
Substituting each of the options we find that 26 satisfies these equations..
since X - 50 = 3 o clock + 4*26 = 3 o clk + 104 = 4: 44
therefore X = 50 mins + 4:44 = 5:34
Now 5:34 + 26 mins = 6 o clock :) - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(1)
- The time between 3′O clock and 6′O clock is 180 minutes.
Let x be the minutes to 6′O clock from Now.
So, the time from 3′O clock to Now(x) is, 180-x minutes.
50 minutes ago from (180-x) ..........(180-x)-50)=> 130-x
x is 4 times as many minutes past 3′O clock (Minutes past 3′O clock is 130-x)
4x=130-x
x=26 minutes - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)

- let x be the time past 3 o'clock
therefore fifty min. ago we will have
180 min.-50min-x min.
A/c to given statement it is equal to 4 times as many minutes past three O'clock
therefore it is equal to 4x
equating both
5x=130
x=26 min. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
