the question was given with a diagram that i am trying to explain. it goes like..
innermost hexagon has each side=3mm. There are 20 consecutive concentric hexagons. Distance between 2 consecutive hexagon is 5mm. Find the total length of the web (perimeter of all 2 hexagons) including 3 diagonals
Read Solution (Total 7)

- ans is 6.243 inner hexagon side =3 then second 8 third 13 .......... so series wou;d be like 3,8,13............98 sum =20/2(2*3 +19*5)=6060 now diadonal would be twicw the side lenhth .......ie for side 3mm diagonal is 6mm so last diagonal would be of lnght=(19*5+3)*2*3=196*3=588 so total =6060+588=6648mm

- a spider web consists of 3 concurrent lines forming radial support for 20 concentric regular hexagon .the hexagon vertices are 5mm from their immidiate neighbour. if the innermost hexagon has a side length 3mm how many meters is the length of the entire web including the 3 diagonals ?

- There are 20 concentric hexagon starting length from 3 and next is 5 more than previous i.e;
3,8,13,18.........98 total 20terms
Sn=20/2(3+98)=1010
becz hehagon has 6 sides so total lenght=1010*6=6060
And now calculate three concurrent line which are radii of hexagon
we know that radii =2*length of hexagon
but the concurrent line is lenth b/w the vertices of hexagon
so length=2*side*2
= 2*98*2=392
for three lines=392*2=784
now total length =6060+784=6844 mm (ANS) - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- *perimeter of all 20 hexagons
