A quiz show has been launched to promote dis 2 companies r hired eltimus n facebook
and elitmmis have e% viewership while fb has f % viewership while g% viewership is common to both of dem , while 1% r neither to dem...??
nd also fb viewership is 2 % more den elitmus
So what is the value of g here...?
a. g can be odd
b. g can be even
c. either odd or even
d. can't determined
Read Solution (Total 8)
-
- Even, simpler than my previous answer can be this one..
Let e be x, hence fb will be x+2
Hence, you have
X+x+2+g+1=100(sum of percentages obviously must be 100 and 1 is those who are neither in fb nor in e)
Hence,
g=97-2x
Now, since 2x is even and 97 is odd..
You have odd-even=odd.
Hence, g is odd..
Answer is a.
I too gave elitmus yesterday. Eagerly waiting for the results. Cheers!!! - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(18) No(6)
- Ansr : (a) ?
e+f -g= 99 ;
e+e+2=g = 99 => 2e-g = 97 ; Hence g must be odd [ *Even-odd=odd* ] - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(9) No(0)
- Answer is a..
G always has to be odd in this case. It can never be even.
Let's take an example.
Let the total be 100 OK.
Now, 1 are neither into fb or e. Hence we are left with 99.
Let g be odd like for e.g. 3
Hence, 99-3 i.e. 96 are the people who are either in fb or e but not both.
Since, the condition is fb is 2 more than e hence, the only possible solution of the above is 49+47=96.
Now, let g=2 i.e. even
Hence, you get 97 people that are either in fb or e but not both. (99-2)
Now, no matter what you do you can never find 2 whole numbers with a difference of 2 that can add up to give 97.
Hence, g must always be odd.

- Can't be determined. As values of e,g,f can be in decimals.

- answer is odd i.e option a

- either elitmus or fb=100-1,since 1% neither to dem
from set basis
100-1=(e+fb-(e and fb))
99=(e+e+2-g)
g=2e-97
2*e is even and 97 is odd
even-odd is always odd - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
