An equilateral triangle has 7 cm long sides . Equal circles were drawn about the vertices of triangle so that each circle touched the other two . Calculate the area of space between the circles ??
Read Solution (Total 1)
-
- 1.967 cm^2
Area of an equilateral triangle=Sqrt(3)*side^2 / 4==Sqrt(3)*49/4=21.2176
As each circle will have an area corresponding to 60 degree inside the triangle with radius=3.5=7/2, so total area of three circles inside the triangle=3*(60/360)*Pi* (7/2)^2=3*(1/6)*(22/7)*(49/4)=19.25
So area of space between the circles=Area of triangle - Area of three circles inside the triangle
=21.2176 -19.25
=1.967 - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
