Ravana spends 30% of his salary on house rent, 30% of the rest he spends on his children’s
education and 24% of the total salary he spends on clothes. After his expenditure, he is left
with ` 2500. What is Ravana’s salary
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- Rs. 10000
If Ravana's total salary= x Rs., then
Expenditure on house rent=x*30/100=0.3x
30% on the remaining(=0.7x) on children's education=0.7x*30/100=0.21x
Expenditure on clothes=x*24/100=0.24x
So Remaining salary=x - (0.3x + 0,21x + 0.24x)=2500
x - 0.75x= 2500
x=2500/0.25 =10000 - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(0)
- 30% on house rent
30% on education
24% on clothes
left with Rs.2500/-
total salary =100%(say)
expenditure %= 30+30+24=84%
amount left %=(100-84) % ie 16%
now, using formula of percentage calculation: (amount left/total amount)*100=amount left %
assume total amount=x
therefore, we have: (2500/x)*100=16
then x=31,250 rupees
