- Among those four brothers, each Amos, Bret and Clem has exactly only two brothers as mentioned in this question.
so Amos, Bret and Clem are the three brothers.
so according to statement 1, we will find that Bret and Clem have grey eyes
and from statement-2, it is clear that Amos has hazel eyes as Clen has grey eyes.
from statement-3, Clem's brothers don't have blue eyes. it indicates that only Dan which was left out involved in the above conditions will have blue eyes.
from statement-4, at least one of brothers has hazel eyes and blue eyes which are possessed by Amos and Dan respectively.
so the final answer will be
1. Amos has hazel eyes.
2. Both Bret and Clem has grey eyes.
3. Dan has blue eyes. - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- 1. A does't has grey, then BC,CD,BD has gray
2. 2 bro's with gray, EXACTLY 2. Since A cant be gray and B is defining his brothers so of course not B, so It has to be C and D who has Gray eyes. Hazel is of A as B is narrating about his brothers who have Gray or hazel eyes.
3. C has 2 bro who don't have blue. D is Gray, so the other 1 who doesn't have blue has to be B
4. Min of 1/3 = hazel and Min of 1/3= blue. This further strengthen the assumption.
Thus:
A=Hazel
B=Blue
C=Gray
D=Gray
