if p is number greater than 99 ,e is the probability of divisiblity of any even whole number p, and O is the probablity of any odd whole number divisible by p , w is probablity of any whole number divisible by p.
a) w=2e
b) e=w/2
c) o=w/2
d) either (b) or (c)
Read Solution (Total 9)
-
- ans is
d)
because e and 0 can't be more than w, so in this case only one option left. by the way option a and b are same. - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(13) No(0)
- for eg any even whole number take e=2,
any odd whole number take o=3,
any whole number take w=6
for eg the number which is divisible by 2,3,6 is=642
so take option c;
o=w/2 which means 3=6/2 ->3=3;
so option c is correct. - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(10) No(15)

- here,p>99 means 100,101,102,.............it's whole number.
and in this set half number of element is even and odd.
so the probablity of even(e) and probablity of odd whole number (w) would be 1/2 of in comprasion of whole number.
so, e=w/2,o=w/2 both are correct. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)

- Since p is an even nos, so only even nos will be divisible by P
Let N be a set of whole nos [N1 , N2 , N3 , N4 ,N5, N6 ,N7 , N8 ,N9 , ................................. ]
out of these N numbers, N/2 are evn nos and N/2 are odd numbers
Since none of the odd nos will be divisble by p (as p is an even nos) so, o = 0
If Q nos are divisble by p i.e nos of events is Q for both the even and whole nos,
For whole nos , number of sample space is N and therefore w = Q/N
and for even nos, nos of sample space is N/2 and therefore e = Q/0.5N = 2Q/N
Clearly , w = e/2 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(2)
- any odd number which is divisible by 2 leaves a remainder so condition c violates the given condition.
c and d are ruled out. - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(5)
