let 1st share = x, 2nd share = y , 3rd share = z.
given 4x = 3y = 2z amounts to same,
let 4x = 3y = 2z = k (constant)
then x=k/4 , y=k/3 and z=k/2
now we have given that sum of shares = 1170 rupees, then
==> x+y+z = 1170
==> k/4+k/3+k/2 = 1170
==> k = 1080
==> 3rd share z= k/2 ==> 1080/2 = 540 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- C. 540
Assume the three shares are x, y and z
The first condition would be x+y+z=1170 ------(1)
Given the clause that 4x=3y=2z -------> x/3 = y/4 = z/6 -----(2)
From (2) it is obvious that y=(4/3)x -----(3)
z=(6/3)x = 2x -----(4)
Using (3) and (4) in (1) we get x + (4/3)x + 2x = 1170 ----> 13x/3=1170 ----> x= 1170 (3/13) ---> x= 270 ---(5)
Therefore the third share, z= 2x = 2*270 = 540. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
