1.There is a rectangular wooden block of length 7cm,height 6cm and breadth 5cm.

2. The 2 opposite surfaces of 7cm *6cm are painted from outsides by red color.

3.One surface of 7cm*5cm is painted from outside by yellow color and the opposite surface violet.

4. The remaining two surfaces of 6cm*5cm are painted from outside by green and pink respectively.

5. Now the block is cut in such away that cubes of 1cm*1cm*1cm are created.


How many cubes have two sides painted and remaining sides unpainted.

  The two sided painted sides of cubes would be formed from the part of the block where two planes meet in a corner.
  But the top and the bottom corner where three sides meet will not count.
  Hence The number of sides would be = 4[(7-2)+(6-2)+(5-2)] = 48.
