Time Distance and Speed
A man travels by a car for 3 days. He traveled 10 hours each day. He drove on the first day at 45
km/hr, second day at 40 km/hr and third day at 20 km/hr. His average speed was :
Read Solution (Total 4)

- 1st day,2nd day and 3rd day distances traveled 450,400 & 200 km respectively. Sum distance = 1050 km which is covered in 3*10=30 hrs, So avg speed = 1050/30 = 35 km/hr (ans)

- 1st day = 10*45=450 km
2nd day =10*40 =400km
3rd day = 10*20 = 200km
total distance = 1050km
now, avg speed = 1050/(10+10+10) = 35 km/hr - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
- We know that,
Avg Speed = (Total Distance) / (Total Time)
So, Avg Speed = (450 + 400 + 200) / (10 + 10 + 10)
= 35 km/hr (Ans) - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- as he has driven 10 hours for 3 days so we wont b taking that value as it is same for d 3 days...the ave will be (45+40+20)/3=35kmph
