- In the first case, 4 parrots per cage and extra cage left, i.e., answer should be multiple of 4.
From options 16 or 12.
If we take 12.,,, 4parrots*3cages=12parrots (left one xtra cage) so total 4 cages.
Second case 3parrots*4cages=12 but no xtra parrot to left.
If we take 16 as answer,
case1: 4parrots*4cages=16parrots (left one cage) total 5 cages.
case2: 3parrots*5cages=15parrots (have one parrot left).
So aswer is 16 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(27) No(0)
- answer should be when we divide by 4,it should give remainder 0 and also when we divide by 3,it should give remainder 1..so 16 is correct answer

- 16 parrots 5 cages, so 1 extra cage for 4 parrots in one.
for 3 in one cage, 15 parrots and one extra. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(1)
- Let the no of Parrots and Cage be P and C.
C=P/4+1 or 4C=P+4...(1)
and P=3C+1....(2)
Solving P=16 and C=5.
Hence Parrots=16. - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- Assume we have16 parrots and 5 cages
Put 4 parrots in each cage:4+4+4+4=16 rem:1cages
Put 3 parrots in each cage:3+3+3+3+3=15
rem:1 parrot - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- 16 would be the answer
16 = 4*4 (where 4=5-1 which in one extra cage)
16=3*5+1 (here 5 is cages but extra 1 is the parrot) - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- correct answer is 16
if we have 16 parrots
let cages be 5 so if we kept 3 parrots per cage we left with one parrot and 4 parrots per cage we left with 1 cage - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)

- if she have 16 parrots and 5 cages means she need 4 cages to fill the parrot and if she put 3 per cage means one parrot is remaining condition satisfied
- 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- assume that she have an some amount of parrots and cages. She put 4 parrots in a cadge means one cage is remainder. But, 3 parrot means one parrot is remainder;
4 parrot=> 4,8,12,16,....
3 parrot=>3,6,9,12,15,....
if she have an 4 parrot means one cage is there in remainder. split to 3 means not satisfies the condition. because we want one parrot is remain. In order to that parrot count is 16 then only satisfied. So the answer is 16. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- easy method to check out from the options as we dont know the number of parrots and cages .
if we take parrots =16 (3rd option)
#-represent cage
(4 parrots per cage, she will have an extra cage) in order to satisfy this take 5 cages instead of 4
4 parrots per cage then (#,#,#,#,#)
