a number when divisible by 50 leaves remainder 16. the same number when divisible by 80 leaves remainder n. how many values can n take?
Read Solution (Total 13)
-
- let the no be x
x/50=>r=16
x/80=>r=?
Formula:(Divisor*quotient)+remainder=Dividend.
Soln;
now ,
((50*q)+16)=x----->(1)=>now it is the Dividend for the second condition.
so , x/80=r--------->(2)
sub, q=1 r=66
q=2 r=36
q=3 r=6
q=4 r=56
q=5 r=26
q=6 r=76
q=7 r=46
q=8 r=16
q=9 r=66(starts repeated again)
so,n=8. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(32) No(6)

- THE CONDITION IS THAT
1)N/50=REM(16)
when you take 66 as N value then 66/50=rem(16)
2)N/80=REM(N)
you have to do the calculation as 66/80=rem(66)
3)finally you are supposed to compute that how many values did N takes
Thus the N can take only 1 value
so answer is 1 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(12)
- (50+q)+16=x
For values of q=1,2,3....
The remainders for x%80 gives only 6,16,26,36,46,56,66,76. So the number of values for n is 8. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(1)
- Formula: (Divisor*Quotient) + Remainder = Dividend.
Soln:
(50*Q)+16 = D -------(1)
D%80 = n -------------(2)
From equation(2),
((50*Q)+16)%80 = n.
=> Assume Q = 1.
=> (50+16)%80 = n.
=> 76%80 = n
=> 76 = n.
if we take q= 1,2,3,4,5
we get reminders as 76,36,16,56,36
n can take 76,36,16,56
whatever may be the q, n will be between these values - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(7)
- ans is 66 because,
66/50=16 rem
66/80=66 rem - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(4)

- assume num is 116
116/80 it give remainder is 28 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(5)
- take a number is 116
it can be divisible by 80 it gives the reminder 28
so the answer is 28 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(4)
- Take n is the number. That divides by 50 leaves the remainder 16.so, that number have an multiple of 50 ant add with the 16. next given question is divide by 80. so that is above 50. add 50+50+16=116.
So, the answer is 116/80 when divides remainder is 36. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(2)
- n= 8;
50*4, 50*5, ..............., 50*13. These figures give remainders with 80 as follows, 4, 1, 6, 3, 0, 5, 2, 7, 4, 1 respectively. So the value of n is 8 since 4, 1, 6, 3, 0, 5, 2, 7 repeats themselves in the order - 4 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
