LCM and HCF
In paper A, one student got 18 out of 70 and in paper B he got 14 out of 30. In which paper he did fare well?
Read Solution (Total 16)
-
- Paper A:(18/70)*100~=25.71%
Paper B:(14/30)*100~=46.66%
Therefore the solution is Paper B - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(15) No(0)
- paper b bcoz of high percentage
- 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(2)
- Take the LCM of the 2 denominators and compare the numerators then,
LCM of 70 and 30 = 210
Therefore,
(18 * 3) / (70 * 3) = 54 / 210
(14 * 7) / (30 * 7) = 98 / 210
You can see that 98 is greater obviously, hence he did fairly well in paper B. - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
- paper A: he got 18 out of 70 so to gets its percentage, (18/70)*100~=25%
paper B: he got 18 out of 70 so to gets its percentage, (14/30)*100~=46%
out of A and B
B has the highest percentage so we choose B did fare well - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- In A, (18/70)*100~=25.71%
In B, (14/30)*100~=46.66%
So he did well in B. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- paperA=(18/70)*100=25.7%
paper B=(14/30)*100=46.6667%
in paper B he did fare well bcz of high percentage in paper b - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- let us calculate the percentage of marks scored by him :
in A :- 18/70 * 100 = 26%
in B :- 14/30 * 100=47%
by observing we can say that he performed well in paper B - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- answer is b

- In paper B he did well.
In paper A he got 18/70 means 25 per.
In paper B he got 14/30 means 46 per.
So Answer is paper B - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)

- b did because by seeing he got highest in paper b when compared to a
- 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- paperA=(18/70)*100=25.7%
paper B=(14/30)*100=46.6667%
in paper B he did fare well bcz of high percentage in paper b - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- when you see both he got 18 out of 70 in paper A and 14 out of 30 in paper B, which can be written as 18/70 and 14/30. when we compare the numerator of pA with the denominator 70 in the denominator is not even three times of the numerator thatis he got nearly 1/3( part) of the total marks. when we see in pB the denominator is nearly 2 times of the numerator that is he got 1/2 (part) of the total marks. Therefore he have done fairly well in paper b
