If a man buys 2 litres of milk for Rs. 36 and mixes it with 20% water and sells it for Rs. 24 per litre, then what is the percentage of gain?
Read Solution (Total 4)
-
- 20% water added to 2,lit=2.4 lit
Total sale = 2.4*24= 57.6
Gain =57.6-36/36= 60% - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
- gain=36-24=12
gain%=(gain/C.P)*100
=12/36*100
=33.3 - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(2)
- gain=36-24=12
gain%=12/24*100
gain%=50 - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(2)
- There is a bit ambiguity in sentence viz. the 20% of ( total solution OR pure milk ) is water ?
if i consider it as percentage of total solution then
suppose total solution is X litre
now X * 0.8 = 2 litre
hence , X is 2.5 litre.
so total income is 2.5*24= Rs 60
also total cost of milk was 36.
so gain is{ ( 60 - 36 )/ 36 } * 100 = 66.67 % - 4 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
