Exam
A naughty bird is sitting on top of a car. It sees another car approaching it at a distance of 12 km. the speed of car is 60 kmph each. The bird starts flying from the 1st car & moves towards the 2nd car, reaches 2nd car & comes back to 1st car & so on. If the speed at which the bird flies is 120 kmph then what is the total distance travelled by bird before it reaches the 2nd car for 2nd time. 1) 10.55 2) 11.55 3) 12.33 4) none of these
Read Solution (Total 1)

- spd of bird is 120. and spd of second car is 60. So relative speed = 180
Dist = 12
Time take to cover 12km is 12/180= 4 mnt.
So in 4 mnt 1st car goes 60*4/60= 4 and 2nd goes 60*4/60= 4
So remaining dist= 12-2*4 = 4 Km.
Nxt stp
4Km/180 = 4/3 mnt.
in 4/3 mnt 1st car goes 60 * (4/3) * (1/60) = 4/3 and 2nd = 4/3
rem dist = 4 - 8/3 = 4/3
Last case Time to covr 4/3 km is (4/3)/180 = 4/9
So, TOtal Time = 4 + (4/3) + (4/9)
= 5.7 mnts.
Total dist = (5.7/60) * 120 = 11.55 KM
