. In a mixture, R is 2 parts and S is 1 part. In order to make S to 25% of the mixture, how much of R is to be added?
Read Solution (Total 4)
-
- Ratio is 1 : 2
So S = 1/3 and R = 2/3
So if you add 1 part of R
Ratio = 1 :3
So S = 1/4 and R = 3/4
So answer add 1 gallon of R ANSWER IS D - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(10) No(1)
- In a mixture, R is 2 parts ( say 2x)and S (x) is 1 part.
so S is 1/3 or 33.33 %.
To make S as 25 % of mixture, S will remain as 1 part(x) and R should become 3(3x) part.
so one part R i.e. amt x is to be added. - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(2)
- ans is 1
coz
ratio is 1:2
so s=1/3 r=2/3
in mixture we ll add only r part, let it be x so total mixture ll be 3+x
now part of s remains same eg 1
so (1/(3+x))*100=25
wll give x=1 eg ans

- r : s
2 : 1
75% : 25%
3:1
so 3-2=1.so answer will be one part of r is required. - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
