- let the total number of eggs =x
no.of eggs sold at first store=1/3 x
no.of eggs left=x-1/3x=2/3x
no.of eggs sold at the other store=2/3 * 2/3x=4/9x
eggs left=2/3x-4/9x=2 dozen
=2/9x=24
= x=24*9/2
x=108 - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- 2x/3 * 1/3 = 24
x = 108 - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- If he had x eggs in begining, then
x-x/3 - 4x/9 =24
solving it, x=108.
check
he sold 36 eggs in first store and left with 72 eggs.

- let initial eggs be xthen after first sold it wlill remains as x-x/3=2x/3.after that left eggs are 2x/3-2x/3*2/3=2x/9.given that 2x/9=24 so x=12*9 means 9 dozens
