how many 4 digit numbers divisible by 5 formed from the number 0,1,2,3,4,5,6 and 6?
answer=249
Read Solution (Total 5)
-
- In order to be divisible by 5, the last digit can only be 0 or 5.
Case 1.... Only one 6 is used and when 0 comes last = 6*5*4=120
Case 2......Only one 6 is used and when 5 comes last = 5*5*4=100 ways
Case 3....Two 6s are used and when 0 comes last = 3*5=15 ways
Case 4..Two 6s are used and when 5 comes last and 4th digit is zero = 2 cases (like 6605 and 6065 only).
Case 5..Two 6s are used and when 5 comes last and 4th digit is not zero = 3*4=12
so total possible numbers are 120+100+15+2+12= 249 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(23) No(19)
- Repetition is not mentioned in the question.
Hence total 4 digit numbers div by 5 will be = 6*7*7*2= 588 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(2)

The table below, Gives the marks of obtained by six students P,Q,R,S,T in five subjects A,B,C,D,E.
a, b, c, d, e denote the minimum marks scored in the A,B,C,D,E respectively
Max marks =100
A B C D E
P a+15 b+5 c d+4 e+1
Q a+14 b+8 c+5 d+2 e+2
R a+13 b+2 c+6 d+5 e
S a b+1 c+7 d+6 e+3
T a+8 b+4 c+3 d+3 e+6
U a+5 b c+9 d e+9
Also the following information is known
T scored equal marks in A and C
R scored one mark less in B than T scored in D
P scored 2 marks more in E then Q scored in B
The sum of of all the marks scored all the students in all subjects was 2600.
