- 600 km
Let the scheduled distance travelled = d,
time taken = d, uniform speed = s
=> d = st ----------(1)
If s -> (s + 10) => t -> (t - 2)
=> d = (s + 10)*(t - 2)--------(2)
=> d = st + 10t - 2s - 20
From (1) => 5t - s = 10 ------(3)
If s -> (s - 10) => t -> (t + 3)
=> d = (s - 10)*(t + 3)--------(4)
(2)/(4) => (s + 10)*(t - 2) = (s - 10)*(t + 3)
=> 10t - 2s - 20 = -10t + 3s - 30
=> 20t - 5s = -10
=> s - 4t = 2 ---------(5)
From (3) and (5),
s = 50 km/hr , t = 12 hrs
=> d = st = 600 km - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(1)
