A stairway 10ft high is such that each step accounts for half a foot upward and one-foot forward. What distance will an ant travel if it starts from ground level to reach the top of the stairway?

2:we need 19 forward moves( because after reaching 10feet we don't need to move forward so we have 19 forward steps)

- for every half feet the ant has to travel one feet forward .. so to get to the top it has to travel 20 half feets (upwards) .. since there is one feet for every half feet we have 20*1feet = 20 feet
therefore the distance travelled by the ant is = 20 half feets + 20 feet
