A horse starts to chase a dog that has left the stable two hours earlier. The horse runs at an average speed of 2 km/hr. It crosses a 10-meter road,two small ponds 3 meter deep,and finally runs along two small streets of 200 meter long. After 6 hrs, 2 hrs after sunset, it catches the dog. Compute the speed of the dog in km/hr?

From the data horse runs 6 hr with 2 km/hr speed so the total distance is 12km and the dog crosses this distance by 8 hrs so the speed of the dog is 1.5 km/hr

The horse caught the dog after 6hrs of starting its journey.
the horse's speed was 2km/hr.
so,the had covered 2*6=12 km.
The horse had started his journey 2 hrs after the dog had started.
So the dog had covered that distance in 6+2=8 hrs.
So speed of the dog was 12/8=1.5km/hr
