A man play a game of cards in casino.the man has to pay Rs.10 for drawing a card from a well shuffled pack of cards.If a numbered card turns up,the man doubles his money else heforfeits it.In the long run,what ishis expected gain or loss per carddrawn?

gain per try is (9/13)*10= 6.9
probability of not drawing a num. card is 1-9/13=4/13
loss per try is 4/13*10=3.07

- In a pack of 52 cards there will be 4 sets of 13 differently marked card.
Total numbered cards are 9 out of 13
There fore he gets a profit of 9*10=90
Remaining 4 out of 13 are cards with figures he gets a loss of 4*10=40
Hence total gain =90-40=50
Now this 50 is aprofit on 13 cards
