• 30 men takes 20 days and in each 9 hrs.... so 1 man 1 hr work=1/30*20*9,
  so, 40 men work 1 hr work=1/135 , so 40 men 1 day work=15/2 hrs

  40 men can done the work in 20*180/40=135 hours
  so,working 9 hours in a day 40 men can finish the job in 15 days

• question itself wrong for sure..bcoz this is a hexaware placement paper question and its typed by a guy who remembers half only....these are sample questions for hexaware...work out like these questions(for tat only he typed but all took it as full question itself)!!

  9 hrs a day for 20 days work, per day=9/20hrs
  so for 15 days , no of hrs = (9/20)*15=6.75 hrs

• so in the first sentence --> 30 * 9 * x = 20 * 24 , x is ration value
  so x =16/9
  
  now in second sentence --> 40 * y * x= 20 * 24 , y is the no of working hours a man has to do and i have taken 20 * 24 , as the job needs to be completed in 20 days ( correct me if i am wrong)
  so x=16/9 , we got it previously
  and y=6.85hrs
  so if we convert it , we get 7 hrs 25 min , so close to 7 1/2 hrs , so ans is (b)
