We have a 630 ml of mixture of milk and water in the ratio 7:2. How much water must be added to make the ratio 7:3?

• 630ml has 70ml water and 560 ml milk.
  milk remains constant in the new mixture with its percentage value alone changing to 0.7
  So solving for x , 0.7(630+x)=560
  x=170, which is the additional amount of water that has to be added.
