The hotel bill for a number of people for a overnight stay is Rs 4800. If there were 4 more, the bill each person had to pay would have reduced by Rs 200. Find the number of people staying overnight.

ANS : 8 people

total bill is = 4800
let us assume there r "x" no of people..
then each person should pay=4800/x
if there are 4 more people then each should pay=4800/(x+4)
Given that if there are 4 more people then 200 rs reduced for each person
Hence (4800/x)-(4800/(x+4))=200
BY solving we will get x^2+4x-96=0.
by solving above equation we will get x=8,x=-12,neglect negative value..
finally we will get x=8..................

if there is increment of 4 people then according to question
=>(4800/n)-(4800/n+4)=200
so n=8

Abbot can do some work in 10 days, Bill can do it in 20 days and Clinton can do it in 40 days. They start working in turns with Abbot starting to work on the first day followed by Bill on the 2nd day and by Clinton on the 3rd day and again by Abbot on the fourth day and so ontill the work is completed fully.find the time to complete the work fully.
