- this prblm can be solved by two methods..
1) apply area of circle formula, for Q to be closer r shud be 1/2foot.
so area of that region is pie/4. area of dartboard is pie..therefore probability is (pie/4)/pie.. =>1/4 or .25
2) second method is...we have 4 conditions..
a. dart can hit the circle.
b. dart can hit the wall.
c. dart can hit the periphery.
d. dart can hit the area closer to periphery (area b/w centre and periphery)

- 0.50 . by taking area . upto the middle area = 0.25pi feet^2 and from middle to phriphery area = 0.75pi feet^2. so probability nearer to centre=0.25 and probability nearer to pheriphery=0.75. so difference is 0.50.
