There are 5 packers A,B,C,D,E in a company. They charge 66,52,46,32,28 $ for each item. The time taken to pack one item is 20, 24,30,40,48 minutes respectively. All items are sold at the end of the day. Each item gets a profit of 100$ and the packers are paid from this profit. If each works for 8 hours a day, which packer contributes the most to the net profit of the company?

• B contributes more to the net profit , even though A packs more.
  A takes 20 min for each which means in 8 hrs he can make (8*60=480)480/20=24 packs
  B takes 24 min for each which means in 8 hrs he can make (8*60=480)480/24=20 packs
  C takes 30 min for each which means in 8 hrs he can make (8*60=480)480/30=16 packs
  D takes 40 min for each which means in 8 hrs he can make (8*60=480)480/40=12packs
  E is not in options so I am leaving
  Now, A makes 24 and hence company earns 24*100=2400 but he charges 66 for each one so he charges 66*24=1584. hence profit for the company is 2400-1584=816
  Now, B makes 20 and hence company earns 20*100=2000 but he charges 52 for each one so he charges 52*20=1040. hence profit for the company is 2000-1040=960
  Similarly for C we have 864 and D 816. Hence B contributes for more profit

  A gvs=(100-66)/20 = 1.7
  B gvs =(100-52)/24 = 2
  C gvs = (100-46)/30 =1.8
  D gvs =(100-32)/40 =1.7
  E gvs =(100-28)/48 =1.5
  so per minute B gives max to the company, now ans will b same for any no of working hours.

  A will pack 12 item/min and profit to organization =(100-66)*12=408$ profit each min
  same way B will pack 10 item/min profit =(100-52)*10=480$/min for C it is 512$/min , for D it is 408$/min and for E it is 360$/min as they all working for equal time so we should not multiply 8*60 min to each these

  for A,in 20 minutes he packs 1 item,then in (8*60) i.e. 480 minutes he will pack 24 items.
  for each item profit is 100,so for 24 items profit is 24*100=2400
  for each item,A charges 66,then for 24 items he charges 24*66=1584
  then A's contribution is=2400-1584=816
  calculate in the same way for B,C and D
  then you will see B contributes the most.
