- here AB and DC are two opposite sides of rectangle.so Y=3x
so area of triangle=1/2*y/2*y/2=y^2/8
area of rectangle =y*y/2=y^2/2
so ratio=(Y^8/2)/(Y^2)/2=1:4..we can do it in reverse way means in form 0f 3x also..result will be same. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
