- It would be easier to understand if you consider lenght of all the sides as a rope ,
and using this rope (since the length of rope is fixed ) we have to form a square
so visualise it as
------|-----|----
21 16 14
as the lenght of rope is fixed
so 4s= 21+16+14
s=12.75
therefore area of square= 162.5625 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(71) No(1)

area of triangle=area of square
by herons formula - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(10) No(19)
- From the given information,Perimeters of both square and triangle doesn't change thus 4s=16+14+21=51/4=12.75
Area=12.75^2 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(2)
- (14+16+21)/4. Then you will get the 1 side of a square and now find the area of a square.ie, side^2

- where is it mentioned that we ve to cosider their sides to be same......we have to take care of area here ....and hence use hero's formula

- Answer: 162.5625
16+14+21=51......51/4=12.75 and 12.75 square=162.5625

- suppose the side of square is a'.
perimeter of triangle = 16+14+21= 51 and that is equal to perimeter of square.
its means 4a' = 51
a'= 51/4
so square will be (51/4)^2 = 162.56 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- as the lenght of rope is fixed
so 4a= 21+16+14
a=12.75// a is the side of square
therefore area of square= 162.5625 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- Can u explain correct answer
- 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- s=(16+14+21)/2=51/2=25.5
area of triangle=sqrt(s*(s-a)*(s-b)*(s-c))
=sqrt(25.5*(25.5-16)*(25.5-14)*(25.5-21))
=sqrt(25.5*9.5*11.5*4.5)
=sqrt(12536.4375)
=111.996=112(approx) - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(12)
- i think ashish ans is wrong. because of area of triangle = area of square. and acc. to heron's formula ans for area of triangle is 111.96 i.e. 112
