A and B rum 1km race .if a gives B a start of 50 meter , A wins by 14 sec. and if A gives B a start of 22 sec ,B win by 20 meter, find the time taken by A to run 1km?
Read Solution (Total 6)
-
- (950/b) + (1000/a) = 14 -----(I)
(1000/b) + (980/a) = 22 -----(II)
solving both equation we get a= 10 m/s
so to travel 1000 meters it requires 100 sec. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(18) No(14)
- when A runs 1000m B runs 950-14*sB
when A runs 980m B runs 1000-22*sB
hence
1000/980=(950-14*sB)/(1000-22*sB)
by calculation sB=5.03m/s
950/5.03=189s
time taken by A to complete 1 km =189-14=175s
