- we know that there is a formula on discount of m% and n% respectively which is(m+n-mn/100)%.According to this for first case, total discount is 18.775%,so after discount the price of the book is Rs.158.38.For second case total discount is 23.4375%,so the price of the book after discount is Rs.156.95.For third case after discount the pice of the book is Rs.150.For last case total discount is 23.5% and the price of the book after discount is Rs.145.35.
So ans is option d in which the price is least. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(29) No(1)
- option a:195*90*95*95/(100^3)=158.38
option b:205*87.5*87.5/(100^2)=156.95
option c:200*75/100=150
option d:190*90*85/(100^2)=145.35
so option d is correct - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(28) No(0)
- a)10% of 195=19.5 so now price will be 195-19.5=175.5 and 5% of 175.5 will be 8.75 so now price will be 175.5-8.75=166.75.
in the same process we can calculate the rest option...
so b) will be 205-25.62(which is 12.5% of 205)=179.38 and 12.5% of 179.5 will be 22.15 so final price 179.5-22.15=157.35
c)25% of 200=50 so price will be 200-50=150
d)10% of 190=19 so 190-19=171 and 15% 171 will be 25.5 so final price will be 171-25.5=145.5..
so correct answer will be (d) - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(1)
- 185.25, 179.375 ,150 ,161.5 these are prices with deduct the disccount respectively
so ans is b - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(9)
- there is one formula to count successive discount that is :- P(1+r1/100)(1+r2/100). Here r1 and r2 are % of discount. after outting values in this formula we can get all values that are (a)100.40 (b)156.95 (c)150 (d)145.35. so here least price is 100.40 so answer is (A).

- Formulla for successive discount
P1=P[1-(d1/100)][1-(d2/100)][1-(d3/100)]......[1-(dn/100)]
where d1,d2,d3...dn are discount rates
a)Rs195[1-(10/100)][1-(5/100)][1-(5/100)]=Rs158.39
b)Rs200[1-(25/100)]=Rs150
c)Rs205[1-(12.5/100)][1-(12.5/100)]=Rs156.95
d)Rs190[1-(10/100)][1-(15/100)]=Rs145.35
Ans (d) Rs145.35 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- (100-25)*200/100 = 150
which is min. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(3)
